Derek Redmond Never Gave Up
Derek Redmond was favored the win the medal in the 400 Olympic Meter Sprint. 150 meters into the race, he felt a searing pain in his hamstring. He fell to the ground. He was in agony. He picked himself up and continued on. His dad broke through security to rush to his son’s aid. He helped him gimp along until he finished the race. I feel a lump in my throat just writing this.
The look on Derek’s face at 1:56 made me cry. Anyone that runs, knows this pain. Watch this inspirational video & realize that you, too can accomplish much. Maybe you won’t win all the time. If you try enough – you’ll have to win at least some of the time.
