WASP SPRAY OR PEPPER SPRAY?? TALK ABOUT INSURANCE!
There’s a new trend in self-protection: WASP Spray. Some say it’s a preferable alternative to pepper spray for protection against assailants. Here is a little story that’s been posted on the Internet:

The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you. The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn’t attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection.
On the heels of a break in and beating that left an elderly woman in Toledo dead, self defense experts have a tip that could — save – your life.
Val Glinka, from Ohia, teaches self-defense to students at Sylvania Southview High School . For decades, he’s suggested putting a can of wasp and hornet spray near your door or bed.

Glinka says, “This is better than anything I can teach them. “Glinka considers it inexpensive, easy to find, and more effective than Mace or pepper spray. The cans typically shoot 20 to 30 feet; so If someone tries to break into your home, Glinka says “spray the Culprit in the eyes”. It’s a tip he’s given to students for decades.
It’s also one he wants everyone to hear. If you’re looking for protection, Glinka says look to the spray. “That’s going to give you a chance to call the police; maybe get out.” Maybe even save a life. “
I’ve seen this article smatterred about the internet and I’m not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, police suggest that if someone is trying to rob you – just give them your money and then call 911. True — it would be good to escape unharmed. But, how does one know that’s all the robber is going to do to you?? Sometimes, they like to beat people up, (that they’ve robbed), just because they think it’s fun (or whatever the hell they think!)
The police say that it might be against the law in some areas to use wasp spray on an assailant because that’s NOT the “intended use” of the product. They say you could get sued for attacking an assailant like that. I say that if I’m alone and unprotected that I should be able to protect myself with whatever means is necessary. I mean, if it’s me or him (or them)?? Guess what, I wouldn’t think twice about it.
This wasp spray stuff is billed as a “humane way” to thart someone’s evil plans for you. I really don’t think it’s humane at all. They would be in a serious situation. BUT — I would take my chances to be fined or sued or whatever if someone tried to lay a hand on me – I would use pepper spray or wasp spray or any other spray that they come up with next.
I don’t like the idea of a tazer gun ’cause you have to get too close to the assailant to use it. And then, it could be used against you. What do you guys think??? Please comment and let me know.

America`s justice system says,” You are innocent untill proven guilty”! I agree on using what ever is necessary to protect you, family, kids, etc., from home or property violant intruders, attackers, rapist, etc., You are alive!, until proven dead! You are sane untill proven psycho! You are smart untill proven stupid. I would rather for someone to say, ” There he goes( running for help), than to say, There he lays! (dead!). Because with our American unfair justice system, ( which is all about money and tax payers dollars to house criminal attackers for 90 years or 2 years, then they are free to repeat the same offense, I strongly recommend to protect yourself , in self defense, with any kind of scents, and deal with the circumstance later. At least you will be alive to tell about it and help other innoncent children and elderly people!!
No matter what the situation, the modern Liberals are going to go into a hand-wringing moment long enough for the bad guy to do whatever he wants to do. Conservatives and patriots are going to take care of the bad guy, then and now, and damn the consequences, because apparently they value their life and family more. Modern Liberals will be fine with controlling other people’s lives to the point that they can’t defend themselves; today’s Britain is a good example of that. Shoot first, with what you have at hand (and arm yourself, if you’ve got the guts and willingness to learn how.) If enough people did that, more of the bad guys would think twice before attacking innocent people. Plenty of them are too stupid to know any better, and they deserve whatever they get.
Without all those bleeding heart liberals, you hillbillies in the south wouldn’t just be in a recession, you wouldn’t have an economy. Why do you try to secede again, so we can show you bumpkins just how much we hate the use of guns.
I would use the WASP spray and claim the intruder allowed the WASP/Hornet to get into the house/apartment and you were trying to kill the wasp…… Of course this only applies during the spring/summer and you will have to prove your a lousy shot.
About using Wasp Spray, it’s a violation of Federal Law to use WASP spray, a registered pesticide, in this manner. Use pepper spray -it works on those which cannot feel pain and it will not cause serious or permanent damage so you won’t be liable. Call a WASP spray manufacturer and not a single one of them will recommend you use their product in this fashion because its a violation of federal law. The CHEMICALS in WASP spray can cause permanent eye injury. And if you’re leaving wasp spray around your house and you have kids, that could really be a safety hazard. Pepper Spray has safety locks that are easy for adults bypass, but difficult for children. You can buy them online for reasonable prices too.
And you can get the version that you carry in your pocket or purse…I can’t imagine carrying a can of wasp spray around!
